Today I want to give you a place to start your week. It’s Monday and in the wake of a great weekend and a workweek ahead, sometimes you just need a “kickstart” to get focused. So grab some coffee let’s start a great week together.
Yesterday, we kicked off a new series “Be Still” at Kfirst. In this new series of talks, we want to look at the “stillness of the soul” that, as the people of God, are called to possess. To “be still” is more than ceasing from doing anything or finding a quiet place. It’s a peace that captures the essence of who we are. It is the deep, calm, confident, stillness of the soul that that only Christ can provide.
Week 1 was a special morning as we turned our attention to Mary’s song in Luke 1. In this beautiful portion of scripture, she sets a new trend (direction, focus) of her life. Her response was two-fold:
- See God’s magnificence.
- Mary chose to adjust her perspective. Instead of being distracted at how large the task was, she chose to magnify how awesome God is. The more you see God’s greatness, the more perspective you get on what you face.
- Lean into God’s magnificence.
- Mary drew her “enough-ness” from God. The word the Angel spoke over her, she took to heart. And that word helped shape the trend of her heart.
What’s been the trend of your heart? What mentalities have you entertained that has shaped how you view your life?
Our challenge: magnify the Lord and lean upon His greatness. Why? When you change your heart, your vision will follow.
Love you all. Have an amazing week.
