Today I want to give you a place to start your week. It’s Monday and in the wake of a great weekend and long workweek ahead, sometimes you just need a “kickstart” to get focused. So grab some coffee let’s start a great week together.
Loved the day we at Kfirst yesterday. We continued our series “Pivot Point” as we are studying the life of Jacob. Even though he didn’t have the “model life”, God always had something beautiful in store for him. Our goal yesterday was to help “My unchecked vulnerability wants to compromise my LEGACY (what is given, what is lived, what is left).
We put focus into Jacob’s interact with his brother where he used his brother’s fatigue and hunger (vulnerability) against him to get his birthright. We can “trade” our rights by:
- Listening to the wrong voices.
- Be cautious of the external influences who want to engage you when you are in a vulnerable situation.
- Listening to our internal appetites.
- We don’t confront truth with our feelings; we confront our feelings with truth.
Our warning: When we are at our weakest, sin is at its strongest.
Our encouragement: Even at its strongest, sin is no match for the power of God.
This week, if you’re feeling depleted and tired. Take some next steps to “fill up your soul.” First, lock in on the truth of God’s word. Read it. Meditate on it. If you need a reading plan, click this link. Second, learn the value of the word “release.” Release the need to be strong and the need to control the situation. Let the Lord be the strength you need. Lastly, look the Lord for your strength. Don’t think you need to “drum” up the capacity to do what needs to be done. Let the presence of God flow in and through your life.
Love you all. See you on Sunday as we continue our series, “Pivot Point.”
BTW: Here’s a song this week for your devotions playlist:
