We had an amazing day yesterday at Kfirst as we looked at Matthew 5 in the message, “Dominated by Darkness.” My reminder: Sermons aren’t for Sunday; Our messages are for Monday.
At the close, there were two reflection questions I gave from my journal:
1 – Is there anything in my life that is consistently HINDERING me in following Jesus?
What is ONE thing you know you need to let go of in order to follow Jesus more closely?
When people are around me, does my lifestyle make others want to know Jesus or cause them to run from Him?
2 – WHERE is God steering you? WHO is God sending you to?
What is ONE act of Christ-connection I can make in my “Decapolis”?
Coupled with those two questions, I wanted to give you some scriptures to ponder and pray upon. Why? Because Satan desires to overshadow, dominate, and control. But we don’t have to live in fear. We can rely upon Jesus and His love, strength, and wisdom.
Let the Holy Spirit challenge you this week to make some personal change.
Let Him show you someone to reach out and make a connection with.
To equip you in your prayer time for the week ahead, here’s 10 scriptures to read and memorize.
- Ephesians 6:10-11
- 2 Thessalonians 3:3
- 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
- 1 Peter 5:8-9
- James 4:7
- Romans 8:37-39
- John 10:10
- Colossians 1:13-14
- John 16:33
- 1 Corinthians 10:13
Love ya Kfirst. Go out this week and saturate your world with the love and compassion of Jesus. And if He steers you off course, just remember: Your “off-course” may be His “on-course.”
